Paul Braite Robertson of Granby passed away on Friday, March 2 at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver due to advanced Gastric Cancer. Paul's wife and daughter were at his side as the angels escorted him to heaven to share in the glory of God.
Paul was born on January 30, 1954 in St. Paul, MN to Vernon (Bud) Robertson and Roxan Robertson (Duc). He spent his childhood in St. Paul and then moved about the Midwest. He eventually located to Indianapolis, IN where he married his wife, Gretchen in 1993.
Their dream was to move to the mountains of Colorado, and they settled in Granby in
2010. Paul immediately immersed himself in Grand County by volunteering as a Mountain Host at Winter Park and joining Grand County Search and Rescue. In 2016 he was elected to the Board of Trustees for the Town of Granby.
Paul is survived by his wife Gretchen, daughter Alexandra Christensen (Jeff Oleck), parents Bud and Roxan Robertson, sister Nancy Robertson, nephew Paul Lentsch, niece Emily Lentsch and Lab-Beagle Haley.
Skiing Winter Park and hiking the trails of Grand County brought Paul great joy and his eight years in Granby were his best. The mountain and trails won't be the same without him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Paul's name to Grand County Search and Rescue. A Mass will be said, followed by a reception, at Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Granby on Tuesday, March 20. Services will begin at 10:45am.
