Jocelyn “Pj” Mix Anderson, 35, of Granby, Colorado, peacefully entered her eternal resting place and into the loving arms of Jesus on November 20, 2023 while surrounded by loved ones, after a brave and difficult battle with cancer.
Jocelyn was born on June 6th, 1988 to Ceci and Mark Mix in the “Heart of the Valley”, the city of Turlock, California. After Jocelyn graduated from Byer High School in Modesto, California in 2006, she pursued a career as a Medical Assistant in Modesto, and obtained her certification in 2008. She worked in her field until she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2010, where she then pursued her passion for cosmetology at the Aveda Fredric’s Institute in April of 2012, and graduated a year later in May of 2013 and began working at Ambiance Salon in West Chester, Ohio.
In 2012, she met her soulmate and love of her life, Patrick, and they wed the following year on March 17th, 2013, St. Patrick’s Day! She and Patrick moved to Grand Lake, Colorado in April, 2015, on what was supposed to be a trip to visit her parents. They fell in love with the area, never returning to their home in Ohio. Together they have two beautiful children, Casey Cheyanne, born in 2015, and Patrick Allen Jr (Ricky), who was born in 2017.
After settling in the bustling mountain town in the Rockies known as Grand Lake, Jocelyn started her journey into motherhood. She loved being a mother and cherished every moment she spent with her children. While raising her family, she worked at Mustachio’s on the Lake from 2016 to 2018, and then moved on to The Rapid’s Restaurant from 2018 until 2021. In January of 2021, she and Patrick purchased their first home and moved to Granby, Colorado. Jocelyn decided to further pursue her passion and love of cosmetology and in August 2021, she opened her own business as a Nail and Lash Technician. She adored each and every one of her clients and you would always find her with a gigantic smile on her face, ready to greet you with that contagious laugh you soon wouldn’t forget, leaving her customers coming back for more! She loved to go boating and fishing with her family on Grand Lake. She was a big “foodie” and enjoyed exploring new and delicious foods. Jocelyn was a kind, sweet, generous young woman. She will forever walk beside us in our hearts and in our fondest memories.
Jocelyn is survived by her husband, Patrick Anderson and their two children Casey (7) and Patrick Jr. (5); her parents Mark and Ceci Mix; her brothers Chris Waters (Linda) and their 3 children, Kevin Bautista (Danniella) and their three boys, Aron Mix and his son Rowan, Zachary Mix, and Joshua Bautista; her sister Mikal Mix and her son Brock; her loving grandmother Tita, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
