Frederick Lee “Bud” Uncapher passed away at his home in Kremmling, Colorado on September 11, 2023, at the age of 76 while being cared for by two loving and special care takers. Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Sue Burton, and her parents Beverly & Joseph Burton, and by his own parents, Carl and Sophia Uncapher. Also, by his two older brothers, Dave and Eddie.
Bud was the youngest of three sons. He grew up on the Williams Fork in Grand County, Colorado. The family learned hard work while being raised and working together on a cattle ranch. Bud attended Columbine school on the Lower Forks. He attended and graduated from West Grand High School in 1965. While still in school Bud was active in 4H and was chosen to attend a national 4H conference in the East.
Bud pursued the Cattle Ranch lifestyle. In 1983 he was introduced to Sue Burton and the two of them together never looked back. They started their life together working and living on the Maxon Ranch south of Rock Springs, Wyo. They shared this life with Bud’s father for a few short years until Bud’s father passed away. They then moved to Farson Wyo. and purchased part of the ranch of Sue’s parents.
Bud loved his wife Sue more than life itself. She was his world! He always tried to help her as much as possible and provide for her in any way he could. They were inseparable. A close friend of Bud’s wrote the following: “The Bud I knew and loved was kind, loving, and loyal. He had a sense of humor attached to a mischievous grin. Bud loved and trusted people. Bud is now reunited with Sue, the love of his life. They are happy and healthy and sitting in the shade together petting their pups.”
