Dolores Yarnall of Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado, passed away on July 18th at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Dolores Susanna Dawson on March 10, 1950 in Wilmington, Delaware.
Dolores graduated in 1970 from A.I. Dupont High School in Greenville, DE. She worked for twelve years as an inventory & shipping clerk for the family business, D&S Warehousing, in Newark, DE before venturing west. Settling in Mesa, Arizona in 1989, she worked for Texaco Express Lube as an office administrator before venturing into healthcare. As an end-of-life caregiver the last 20 years of her varied career, when she earned multiple certifications by the AZ Department of Health, she was awarded dozens of work commendations of excellence for ensuring the quality of life and dignity of older adults. In 2017, she continued her adventure and moved to Colorado, where in her retirement, she found tremendous joy in nature and sharing that experience with her immediate family and grandchildren.
Being a saxophone player in her high school band, Dolores had a passion for music and also loved singing and performing in the church choir with her two daughters while her two sons participated in church services. A devout Catholic, she shared the love of her faith with everyone she knew, and was also a shining example by her charity: donating continuously from her school-age years to over three dozen charities at the time of her death.
She is survived by her former husband's children: Kelly, Phillip and Jennifer; by her siblings Marcel, Johanna, Patricia, Tony, Karen and Stephen; her twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved in-laws, the Yarnalls; Karen, Howard, Teckie, Dave and Rick. She was preceded in death by her father Elmer, her mother Pearl, in-laws Teckla and Warren Sr., her brother Jerry and her daughter Kimberly. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her honor to Mountain Family Center, Granby, Colorado, for their cancer related services.
