August 29,1940 - November 6, 2023.
David Jerome Lehr passed away at his home on November 6th, 2023, of an apparent heart attack.
While David was born in Clear Creek, Colorado, his family eventually moved to Brighton, Colorado where he grew up. Dave entered the work field at a young age and eventually joined the trades Union at age 17. He worked his way through an apprenticeship program and became a master electrician working for the Electrical Union until retirement.
After retirement, Dave moved to his mountain property in Grand Lake, Colorado, which he originally purchased at the tender young age of 17. There he lived full-time in a small Airstream camper and endured all that the Colorado mountains weather would bring, all the while working on his “cabin” until completion.
Dave had lots of ambition and a hard work ethic driven by a very creative mind. This was evident by the home he built with his own hands from start to finish. A unique build to say the least. Dave also enjoyed the great outdoors and wilderness of the Colorado mountains, exploring mining towns and caverns. He viewed the mountains as a playground for adventure, exploration, and the place that he called home.
David is survived by son Donald John Lehr of Colorado, daughter Kimberley Cheri Lehr of Colorado and 10 grandchildren. He is survived also by brother James, Lynn Lehr, brother’s Leslie Lee and Lester Leo Lehr (twins), sister Karen Joy Perry, brother Ronald Dean Lehr, and sister Kristine Renee Lehr.
Dad, you will be truly missed by all, family and friends alike.
