Autumn Angelo of Granby Colorado, passed away at the age of 81 on March 6, 2014 in Evergreen Colorado. Autumn was a long time residence of Grand County from 1969 to 2012.
Autumn was born in Leesville LA to the late Albert and Callie Irene Slatten and was raised with her 7 brothers and sisters in Houston TX. She and her husband, Gene Angelo moved to Hot Sulphur Springs in 1969. Their shared passion for the outdoors brought them to Grand County and over the years she was involved in many organizations including Lion's Club and the Grand County 4-H programs as a parent volunteer. She was very involved with the town of Hot Sulphur Springs, assisting in planning local events like Hot Sulphur Days and assisting in grant writing endeavors. Autumn owned and operated a hair salon for over 20 years and is remembered fondly for the connection she made with so many people through her business.
Autumn's passion was nature and the outdoors and she loved to share this with all she knew. Her favorite place was her cabin outside of town of which she spent many days and nights hiking and exploring. She also loved all the mountains had to offer spending her time horseback riding, skiing, ice skating, snowmobiling, hunting and walking and hiking. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, play the guitar and dance,
Her family was at the center of her heart and she cherished the time she had with her 3 grandsons, teaching them lessons and sharing her passion for nature. Autumn was beautiful inside and out and she will always be remembered for her bright smile, warm and comforting touch and kind and gentle way. She will be missed and the gifts that she brought to those who shared her path will surely always be remembered.
