Obituary of Alvin Stadelman
Long-time Winter Park resident Alvin J Stadelman (Uncle Al) died of natural causes at his home on January 25, 2014.
Al was born in Hays, Ks April 25th,1929 to Nicholas and Katherine (Brungeard). Al spent his early years in Kansas and Fort Collins, Co where he graduated from high school. The family summered in the Fraser Valley raising cattle and grass hay on their ranch between Fraser and Tabernash.
Al went to work in the winters for George and Joyce Engel in 1952 at the Winter Park Ski Shop. In the summertime he worked at various jobs including the C Lazy U Ranch in Granby and the Little King Ranch, Morrow and Sons before working for the Engel's year round until his death.
Al loved adventure, fixing things and helping people, at one time owning his own plane serving on the Search and Rescue, he was a deputy coroner and member of the sheriffs department, a Master Locksmith, but most of all Al loved to talk and share his wonderful stories.
Al is survived by brother Orville (Betty), nieces and nephews, Vicki, John, Michael, Ronald of Grand Junction, brother, James (Virginia) nieces and nephews, Janice and Jim, brother, Leroy (Shirley), nieces and nephews, Steve, Donald, Mary, David, Andrew, and Janet Engel and Wendy Engel Christensen.
